pride clothes
This shirt is a garment for people with karate
nationalities. This shirt is almost similar to other pencaksilat clothes such
as judo, taekwondo, kenpo and so on. This shirt is called tegi or dogi in the
world of karate. Karate-gi or dogi is the uniform used for training and during
competitions. There are two types of tegi, the first is tegi for kumite. The
tegi used by kumite athletes is lighter and limp. Whereas in athletes the word
type of cloth tends to be thicker and sounds when it rubs against so that the
price is higher than the price of kumite tegi.
The struggle to buy tegi
The first tegi I bought was the cheapest tegi my coach recommended at the time. Why did I choose the cheapest? because in the past I didn't think about going any further in karate at all. At that time I went to buy it with my dad at the win win shop, and dad even bid on the price of the clothes at the shop 😂. This is my shopping experience, one that I will never forget.
My tegi used to train and enter my first competition. In the
second competition I didn't wear the first outfit. My coach offered me two
tegi, kumite and kata because I participated in a provincial competition. The
price of the kata tegi at that time was five hundred thousand rupiah and the
kumite tegi two hundred thousand rupiah. You can imagine junior high school
children being asked to buy two clothes at a time at a very high price. And I
pay in installments using my own pocket money. Sometimes my parents help pay it
off. Why am I having trouble paying my own clothes money? So I find it
difficult to make money, save for my desire. And so that I can appreciate more
the things I buy myself.
When I entered high school, I didn't wear my first tegi because it didn't fit anymore. Tegi, the word I use often now, changes color because I use it so often. And in high school I participated in national competitions and strategies had to have national standards too (approved). Because my money at that time made it impossible to buy a new one for five million rupiah and a belt for two million rupiah. So for the competition, I borrowed clothes from my amazing seniors. Frequent competitions make me embarrassed to keep borrowing clothes and because I have to stay in Jakarta for 1 month, at that time I decided to buy clothes that I often wear. The clothes I bought are historic for those who own them. because these clothes are a prize when they won PON and I'm proud to have them, hopefully I can play PON in 2023 too (help pray for me guys). The struggle to pay it off was very long and took quite a long time, about one year. they understand that I don't have much money. To pay it off at that time I had to sell at school, delaying the fun and not buying unnecessary things. Fortunately they understand 😀. And thank God in November 2020 the clothes are complete and officially mine.
Using the word tegi does seem dashing, but washing it makes
you lazy because the ingredients are thick and heavy when submerged in water.
This shirt is full of sweat, dirt, blood, tears, and the color of the mattress
is faded.
When my hand was injured because of the friction from the
clothes
"Buy with your own money because you will appreciate more items that are bought at your own expense." Hopefully this struggle will produce extraordinary results and go beyond dreams. Hopefully this is an inspirational story that I write.
Hopefully this article can make me rise when I get bored of practicing.
In 2020 many competitions will be canceled, hopefully the pandemic will be resolved quickly and I look forward to the next race in 2021.
FIGHTING!!!
